Travis started his professional photography career after getting his grandmothers van in 2014, rebuilding it for a year on the road, living the “van life.” Always a tremendous athlete, Burke had an eye for nature and wanted to create a new path for himself. When IndoTeak Design was asked to be involved with one of the five people selected for the 2018 DXV Design Panel, we were delighted. Tasked with creating a special custom herringbone floor for Laura Muller and her design project, we were told she chose us because of our 100% reclaimed teak flooring not only for its recycled, earth friendly construction but also for its durability and soothing characteristics. Indoteak Design & World Surf League Partner For Pipeline Masters

The Pipeline Masters is one of the worlds greatest events. Some call it the Super Bowl of Surfing. The event takes place at the world famous Banzai Pipeline on Oahu’s North Shore. The venue is a modern day gladiator pit with arguably the heaviest wave on the planet breaking just meters from the safety of the warm Hawaiian sand. It’s a spectacle unlike any other.

Surfrider Malibu Gets A Facelift With Indoteak Design

The legendary Surfrider Hotel in Malibu California first opened in the 1950’s and was a perfect little motel for visiting surfers who flocked to the famed long green walls of the legendary right point. Pop culture got its first look at Southern California beach lifestyle with the cult classic film “Gidget.” That movie alone turned the sleepy surf town of Malibu into a world wide draw which also watched the surf crowds explode from a few dozen in 1951 to hundreds or new surfers chasing the dream of Gidget by 1957.

That was just the beginning and the little Surfrider Motel was constantly booked solid for decades until it fell under disrepair and was sold in 2013.
