The once sleepy beach town of Cardiff California was considered a hidden gem of San Diego County. Easy going residents lived among flower fields, ocean vistas and resident surfers. Small businesses, a holistic health retreat and a hippie vibe were the main draws of the 50s-60’s. Today the community is a bustling beach town with a massive overhaul in process. The quaint little bungalows and farms have been sold or remodeled creating a modern luxury beach town featuring new gorgeous homes popping up almost weekly it seems.
That may not be everyones cup of tea, but the area is becoming a work and play destination that is unlike any other in the city of San Diego. Close proximity to a gorgeous stretch of coastline offering sweeping views of the Pacific, cute boutiques and fine small gourmet restaurants make Cardiff a young family’s dream destination. When the owners who bought this property came to Indoteak Design they wanted to add reclaimed teak to their project for its soulful flavor to their modern luxury home. Details like the cladding, flooring and tile were the main focus but they also imagined a grand entryway that would be unlike any other the area has seen. Soon, decking, custom tile and stair treads were also part of the conversation. The end result is one of the finest representations of how our products can add the subtle softness that makes a home spectacular.
While Indoteak Design is considered a material producer, we have the capabilities to design, create and install a wide variety or products and custom made items like doors, furniture and shelves. This project required us to produce all of the aforementioned. It has become one of the marquee projects we like to show our new clients so they can get an idea of the breadth of our manufacturing capabilities. All the wood featured is 100% reclaimed teak wood that source, procure and hand craft into our completely unique and sustainable products.
