As it is with our reclaimed teak offerings, so it is with unique food. We recently partnered up with Uyeda and her highly acclaimed restaurant, ediBOL in Los Angeles California, to blend our luxurious reclaimed teak wood into the interior of LA’s hottest new fusion eatery.

Known for her handcrafted, artisan “Bols” as she calls them, Uyeda creates unique offerings, spinning the traditional ramen bowls with more twists and turns than you could imagine.

IndoTeak Design Home Profile: The Hanalei House Kauai

Tucked into Hanalei Bay Kauai, is the small town of Princeville. The once sleepy surf town is now one of the worlds hottest vacation destinations. In recent years properties have been snatched up faster than anytime before by the likes of Ben Stiller, Mark Zuckerberg, Drew Barrymore and Donovan Frankenreiter. With a laid back vibe, lush tropical rain forests and raw, dramatic coastlines, Kauai is experiencing a boom that doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime in the near future.

Located a stones throw from the town and Hanalei Bay is a property that has become one of our favorite projects we have had the pleasure of work.

The Build That Started IndoTeak Design: The Bali House

Located in the Windansea Beach neighborhood of La Jolla California, The “Bali House” is one of the most unique structures in this community. The 9,300 sq. ft. custom home built in 2010 was inspired after the owners many travels to Indonesia. To achieve the look and feel of their dream home, Frank and his wife Amy spared no expense to create this masterpiece.

Frank and Amy Ragen decided they wanted a home with the look and feel of Indonesia. That meant the wood of choice was teak wood. Reclaimed teak to be exact. After having difficulty sourcing the rare wood, they soon had all the reclaimed teak wood they needed.

Owners Ted Cochrane and Doug Ritz have spent the better part of three years pursuing their dream of opening a restaurant that reflects their personalities and their connection to the community, but as they say, nothing comes easy.

After a string of setbacks as well as getting their building (built in 1947) up-to-code, the pair could have quit a half-dozen times and nobody would have blamed them. But they are cut from a different cloth, and after taking some time to reflect and learn, the pair moved forward in their pursuit, keeping the dream alive by staying focused and positive.

The Tiny House Project by Ben Hayward

Tiny House: “A small compact living space gaining popularity with young adults looking to downsize their living space and save money.”

Ben Hayward and Indoteak Design teamed up late last year for a project Ben had lined up with HGTV and their program, Tiny House. His concept was to create a unique, totally original mobile home that had a green footprint, a bold design and beauty inside and out. When he asked us to provide the tile for his bathroom, we jumped at the chance to be involved.

Over the months that followed, we found that Ben was a great communicator who was very driven by his passions and his goals.

The name Billabong has become an iconic name within the surfing world. Over their storied 40-year run, they became the leader in the surf-wear industry that pioneered the beach culture & introduced it to the masses. The brand is now as recognizable in Ohio as it is in Hawaii or California. Billabong rose to fame within the surf culture in the 1980’s, releasing classic surf films “Pump” and “Filthy Habits.” These films showcased their influential athletes like Mark Occhilupo and the late Andy Irons.

Billabong features many global showrooms. Locations are in Newport Beach, New York and Honolulu to name a few.

Indoteak Design and Interior designer KW Designs Create Magic in Solana Beach

Indoteak Design recently finished the new construction of a green, net zero residence located on Holmwood Lane in Solana Beach overlooking the small beach town of Cardiff and its famous lagoon. Our engineered flooring is 100% reclaimed teak wood from Southeast Asia, made from buildings that were slated for demolition. We step in to buy the beautiful old wood, sometimes 150-300 years old and repurpose it, into beautiful products like flooring, tile and siding.
