INDOTEAK DESIGN: Custom San Diego Luxury Beach Home

The once sleepy beach town of Cardiff California was considered a hidden gem of San Diego County. Easy going residents lived among flower fields, ocean vistas and resident surfers. Small businesses, a holistic health retreat and a hippie vibe were the main draws of the 50s-60’s. Today the community is a bustling beach town with a massive overhaul in process. The quaint little bungalows and farms have been sold or remodeled creating a modern luxury beach town featuring new gorgeous homes popping up almost weekly it seems.

Ben Haywards Incredible Tiny House Project

We recently received an email at Indoteak Design from a young designer who was working on a great project for the HGTV show Tiny House. Ben Hayward pitched us his idea and wanted to use some of our reclaimed teak tiles for the bathroom area of his build. His pitch was well received to say the least. Once we saw his amazing mock-ups of his tiny house project, we were happy to jump on board as a partner to help his vision become a reality.

Custom Tile Spotlight: Blue Moon Taphouse Norfolk VA

During the redesign of the Waterside District in Norfolk VA, overseen by the talented Design Agency of Jeffrey Beers International, The Blue Moon Tap House needed something unique to add to their impressive 22,550 sq. feet of restaurant and bar space. Indoteak Design was contacted and tasked with creating some custom, 100% reclaimed teak-wood tiles in the signature colors for the Blue Moon Brand.

New York City. The name conjours images of Broadway, hipsters, architecture that tickles the sky and, most of all, business. If you are young, driven and looking to make your mark in the business world, you will most likely spend some years in New York pursuing your goals and dreams.

The flip side to the masses who make the pilgrimage to the city, is the shocking lack of living space that is anywhere close to affordable. Stories of studio apartments fetching $2500 a month are real. Young professionals had an equally hard time trying to post up at coffee shops to bootleg the free wifi. Lucky for them, WeWork opened a beautiful office space right in the heart of the city.

Chef Bobby Flay New Las Vegas Restaurant -Shark

Flays new Shark restaurant is a huge part of the The Palms impressive make-over. The Station Casinos’ principals Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta, have taken a hands-on approach to the resort’s $690 million renovation. Look no further than “Shark” to see what we mean.

The legendary super-chef Bobby Flay is opening his first new restaurant in five years and as he says, “My first high-end restaurant in 15 years.” Opening on April 1 2019, “Shark” restaurant in the Palms is an all out love letter to all things seafood.

Cinta Tile Featured At CHICA Restaurant Las Vegas

CHICA opened In May of 2017 to rave reviews. Located inside the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, the colorful vibe and vibrant flavors of Latin American cuisine greet guests. CHICA’s Menu was crafted by celebrity chef Lorena Garcia who’s classic interpretations of Latin cuisine offers guests an adventure in dining. The robust flavors with influences from Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, Mexico And Argentina, among many others is what makes the restaurant stand apart. The decor is equally fabulous with custom handcrafted reclaimed teak wood tiles by Indoteak Design. The reclaimed teak is 100% recycled and comes from old timbers reclaimed from 100-300 year old timbers from Indonesia.

Super-Mom, Designer & Instagram Hero: Ali Hynek

Most of us know all too well how hard it is to juggle work, family and the pursuit of our passions. What we all realize is that there are just not enough hour in the day. Some people crumble under the responsibility and others rise to the challenge. That leads us to our partnership with wife, super-mom, designer, entrepreneur and Instagram hero, Ali Hynek. We were put in touch recently with Ali by mutual friend & designer Erin Adams who designed our Cinta tile collection. Ali was about to begin a wonderful remodel of her laundry room and wanted to use our Natural Tommy tile made from 100% reclaimed teak for the project.

INDOTEAK DESIGN CLIENT PROFILE: LIFE ALIVE RESTAURANT- BACK BAY

Life Alive restaurant, located in Back Bay Boston, was concepted by the interior design firm, Studio Phenomena. Indoteak Design worked closely with Kiki Mobley and Kendall Lowe, the co-owners of Studio Phenomena to create a very colorful and unique tile floor. The client not only wanted something beautiful but also sustainable. After some discussions, the designers wanted the tiles to capture the vibe of colorful area rugs with blending of colors and title shapes. The results are stunning to say the least.

The designs were created by using Indoteak Designs Cinta tile line, which is created from 100% recycled and reclaimed teak wood.

Reclaimed Teak Tile Accent Wall-Private Residence

Indoteak Design recently had our reclaimed teak tiles featured in a private residence in Naples, CA. We are very proud to work with some of the best architects, designers and retailers who choose Indoteak Design to provide their clients with our unique and special materials. In the case of this project, the client worked closely with our vendor in the area, Diane from Modern Earth Tile in Long Beach, CA.

The accent wall featured our “Amy” Cinta tile. This custom colored, resin finished, reclaimed teak tile adds a beautiful look and feel, giving the living space an earthy and soulful feel.

Reclaimed Teak Masterpiece Residence In San Diego

In the northern region of San Diego county lies a small community that was once an artist and hippie sanctuary in the 1960’s. The once rural town has adopted the tag line: “Keep Leucadia funky.” With its eclectic selection of stores and restaurants, the beachside town of Leucadia was once covered in flower farms and large pine trees, giving it a feel and vibe as unique as the people who live there. The area has been developed thoughtfully, keeping the the soul of the community intact and just as “funky” as ever.
